I'm not sure why birds, but I do know I've always been drawn to folk art birds. I like the ability to give them expressions. I like experimenting with colors and textures. I try to make things that have purpose and give me joy. The chicken for instance. He is hollow, and a dowel rod fits inside. So I could perch him in a potted plant or put him in our garden on the deck and he'd look like he belonged there.  I'm planning on making more.

This Tie Dye was hidden in a box of fabric I was sorting through.  I remember making it on the farm. I was so glad to see it that I got my sewing machine out right then and there and hemmed the edges with a decorative stitch. It makes me happy - the more color in my life the better. Planning more tie dye.

You can see that I do in fact have a problem with pillows, but Roxie approves.
